Dr. Steve Grover, Robotic Surgery specialist

Medical Treatments & Advances:

Dr. Grover has a special interest in the area of Robotic Surgery and  Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) including Minimally Invasive Procedures (MIPs) such as robotic-assisted da Vinci hysterectomy, robotic single-site hysterectomy, robotic sacrocolpopexy for pelvic prolapse, laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH), endometrial ablation to treat abnormal uterine bleeding and heavy periods, surgery to correct urinary incontinence and restore bladder control, and other laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries.

da Vinci-Trained Surgeon

For those patients whose medical condition requires hysterectomy,

Dr. Grover recommends minimally-invasive procedures such as Robotic-assisted da Vinci Hysterectomy. Patients who undergo this operation are often able to leave the hospital in less than 6 to 24 hours and often return to work within 5 to 10 days. Learn more at daVinciSurgery.com.

Dr. Grover was one of the first OB/GYN physicians in the Rocky Mountain region trained in da Vinci Robot-assisted Surgery. He has performed over 400 of these surgeries which is more than any other GYN surgeon in Utah. The da Vinci system allows him to perform complex pelvic surgeries including hysterectomy, sacrocolpopexy, and myomectomy in a minimally-invasive manner such that patients who would otherwise have to have open surgery can have robotic-assisted surgery with small abdominal incisions. These patients are routinely able to get out of bed, walk around in their room, eat normal food and empty the bladder without a catheter immediately after surgery.

Dr. Grover has trained many other surgeons in Utah, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, and Ohio in this surgical technology. He has participated in the World Robotic Gynecology Congress and has attended several courses in Robotic Surgery around the country.

Single-Site Robotic Hysterectomy

Dr. Grover was one of the first Mountain West OB/GYN surgeons trained in Da Vinci Single-Site Hysterectomy. He performed the first Single-site Robotic Hysterectomy in the Denver Metro Area when he was practicing in Denver.

Bladder Surgery for Incontinence or Prolapse

Patients who struggle with bladder control can now be cured with a simple outpatient surgery called a sling operation. Dr. Grover is pleased to offer this procedure for his patients. Learn more at pelvichealthsolutions.com/incontinence for more information.

Dr. Grover also offers da Vinci Robotic-assisted Sacrocolpopexy or dSC for patients who have pelvic or uterine prolapse.
